NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is hosting a 4-H Domestic Poultry Show on October 7, 2023 in conjunction with the Currituck Planes and Plows Festival. The show is open to youth ages 5-18. There will not be any specific breed classes, but we will have three different divisions: Standard Laying hens, Bantam hens, and Roosters. Youth can show one bird in each division. There will be a registration fee of $5 per participant. To register for the 4-H Domestic Poultry Show, visit 20234Hpoultryshow.eventbrite.com. The deadline to register for the poultry show is September 22, 2023.

The 4-H staff will also be holding workshops to help educate youth about chickens, other poultry related contests and poultry showmanship. These workshops are not required to participate in the show, but are recommended. The dates for those workshops are August 23 and September 12.
