The 4-H Egg-cellent Egg Contest is a fun competition for 4‐H members who have a flock of chickens that are currently laying eggs. As part of the program, youth will submit eggs in up to two different categories, which will then be judged for uniformity and exterior and interior quality. Participants will also complete a supplemental project (based on their age) which will be counted as part of their final score. All participants who complete the project will receive an “Eggs-Cellent Eggs” t-shirt and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each competitive (8yr old and up) category. Cloverbuds will receive medals.

Currituck County 4-H is hosting an informational workshop on the 4-H Egg-Cellent Egg Contest on August 23, 2023. Interested families can attend in person or via a zoom link. 4-H staff will outline the contest and rules, registration procedures, mandatory (online) training sessions and highlight and explain the supplemental project that must be completed as part of the contest.
