A raccoon (Procyon lotor) family was photographed taking a stroll around Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.
“You can bet this raccoon family is looking for food,” noted USFWS.
Raccoons are voracious eaters and will consume just about anything they can get their paws on. Some favorites include frogs, fish, crayfish, blueberries, acorns, pecans, bird eggs, crabs, mice, persimmons, snakes and mussels.
