Point Harbor – Jonathan T. Brown, 43, was called Home August 31, 2023 in Elizabeth City, NC after bravely battling Muscular Dystrophy (MD) since infancy. He was predeceased by his mother, Gail Brown, and his brother, Justin Brown. Born in Fairfax, Virginia, Jonathan lived most of his life in Point Harbor, NC. Despite the medical challenges, Jonathan insisted on living his life to the fullest.

As a life-long Christian, Jonathan served God and humanity as an active member of Powells Point Christian Church in several ministries. He was most passionate about mission work. Incredibly, Jonathan ventured to Haiti eight times on medical mission projects working under his friend and mentor, Dr. James Owens.

Here at home, Jonathan volunteered with Special Olympics for many years, assisting athletes and organizers in numerous capacities. Jonathan was also intelligent and loved technology. He had a knack for installing and fixing computers for friends and family. In recent years, Jonathan worked diligently on behalf of the blind and visually impaired as a member of the Lower Currituck Lions Club. When he had spare time, Jonathan loved watching professional wrestling and relaxing at home with his dad. His many friends will remember long conversations with Jonathan as he gently counselled them and talked about his deep love of the Lord.
