Audrey Oram Davenport, age 91, earned her wings in Barco, NC Thursday September 21, 2023. She was the loving daughter of the late Paul and Rose Oram of South Hill, Virginia. Following the death of her mother, Audrey was raised and cherished by her uncle, William Forehand (deceased). Besides her parents, Audrey has been reunited in heaven with her husband of 64 years, Herbert C. Davenport Sr., her oldest son, Herbert C. Davenport Jr., and her brother, Paul Oram.

Audrey was known and loved by so many for her warm and generous heart. Over the years, Audrey faithfully contributed to several missions and charitable causes. She was particularly passionate about the needs of the homeless and hungry. Audrey also served her local community as a member of the Coinjock Eastern Star Lodge for over 50 years.

Survivors of Audrey Davenport include her devoted daughter, Brenda Gallop (Ralph) of Harbinger, NC; her two sons, Wayne Davenport of Poplar Branch, NC and Jeff Davenport of Spot, NC; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn as well as a host of other relatives, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Georgie Davenport of Parrottsville, Tenn. The Davenport family extends special thanks to the staff of Currituck Health and Rehabilitation of Barco, NC for their compassionate care of their mom.

The funeral will be held graveside at Powells Point Christian Church Cemetery Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 3 O’clock p.m. Dr. James Owens will officiate. Mrs. Diane Newbern will be the musician.
