Raymond Martin “Buddy” Sheely, 96, of Elizabeth City, died October 12, 2023. A native of Elizabeth City, he was born on January 8, 1927 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Funeral service will be held October 18 at 2 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, or Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27690.
