Both Manteo and First Flight high school soccer teams advanced to the second round of play in the 2023 North Carolina High School Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Tournament.

On Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, Manteo High soccer team faced a familiar foe, Northeastern, and won the match 9-0. During the regular season, Manteo High had defeated Northeastern twice.

Manteo is seeded fourth in the 2A bracket.

On Thursday, Nov. 2, at 5 p.m., Manteo, playing at home, will face Raleigh Charter. This team is seeded 13th and defeated Camden 8-0 on Monday.

On the same day, First Flight High’s soccer team defeated North Brunswick, 8-0. First Flight is seeded first in the 3A bracket.

The Nighthawks will play Southern Wayne County on Thursday, Nov. 2 in Kill Devil Hills at a time to be posted.
