To the Editor:

With the 2023 Municipal Elections behind us, I want to thank the residents of Manteo for your support, your kind votes and your dedication to the town that we all love.  As your Mayor-elect I will continue to work hard for you, and I look forward to hearing what you are thinking.  Feel free to reach out to me to discuss issues that are on your mind, or solutions that could help us improve. The position of Mayor takes a village and this is a town with talented residents who have great ideas!

As I take over as Mayor, it is my pleasure to thank Mayor Bobby Owens who has served the town so well over the past six years. He has been instrumental in getting the Town Common completed, and it is a great asset to Manteo. Mayor Bobby has always been interested in keeping our town clean and beautiful and he has initiated a number of projects to do so. We all thank you Mayor Bobby!

On December 6th, I will be honored to take office as your Mayor and I would love to see you at town hall where the newly elected Commissioners will be sworn in, as well. My congratulations to; Tod Clissold, Betty Selby, and Hannah McOwen Forslund. This is an exciting journey.

As I take office, I want to let you know about an initiative that I will begin in Manteo, called Walk With The Mayor. Residents can meet me at Manteo Town Hall where we will put on our walking shoes and walk around town together so that I can hear from you personally and we can get some exercise! The schedule for Walk with the Mayor will be listed on the town’s website.

It is my heartfelt thanks to each of you for getting to the polls, and I am truly honored to be your Mayor.
