Frank M. Bryson Jr., 87, of Russell, KY, went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born in Portsmouth, OH, September 23, 1936 a son of the late Frank Bryson Sr. and Norma McDowell Bryson.

Frank was of the Christian Faith and a Servant of the Lord, having ministered at multiple churches in KY and NC. He served in the Army National Guard for 10 years, retired from teaching High School Science in Lewis County, KY and Dare County, NC, and was an adjunct College Math Professor at both Shawnee State University and Ohio University Southern. He earned his Masters Degree in Mathematics at LSU, after earning his B.S. in Physics and Chemistry at Morehead State College. Frank was a Free Mason, Order of Eastern Star, and a Shriner.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Patrica Belle Lamb.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Joy Lee Evans Bryson, whom he married June 14, 1959; three daughters, Melisa (L. Allan) Thompson of Russell, KY, Laura (Don) Allred of Burlington, NC, and Anita Jo Bryson of Russell, KY; one son, Frank (Suzanne) Bryson III of Arden, NC; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Kristin) Rice, Samantha (Taylor) Ashby, LCDR Ryan (LCDR Williams, USN) Thompson, MC, USN, Alyssa (Brett) Cooksey, Jessica (Cody) Walker, Joshua Bryson, Forrest Bryson, and Foster Bryson; three great-grandchildren, Kate E. Ashby, June E. Ashby, and Jaxon C. Walker; one sister Julia Ann (Luke) Bentley and many additional family and friends who will sadly miss him.

At Frank’s request a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, are caring for arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Summer Lunch Program or the Building Fund at Advance Methodist Church, 1007 Bellefonte Road, Flatwoods, KY 41139.
