Sunrise at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge brought a colorful, pink morning sky reflecting on the pond surrounding a great egret (Ardea alba), putting the bird in the pink. Great egrets can stand over 4 feet tall and have a large, bright orange-yellow beak and long black legs.
