“With more than 40 years’ experience protecting and restoring the coast, we know the importance of being good stewards of both the environment and of our donor’s gifts,” said Federation founder and executive director Todd Miller. “Over the years, we have earned the trust of our supporters and partners, which has, in turn, helped ensure our continued success.”

“We are delighted to provide the North Carolina Coastal Federation with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The Four-Star Rating is the highest possible rating an organization can achieve. We are eager to see the good work the Coastal Federation can accomplish in the years ahead.”

In 2024, the Coastal Federation will put public donations to work restoring oyster reefs, installing living shorelines, protecting water quality, cleaning up thousands of pounds of marine debris, and providing engaging coastal education programs.

This is the Coastal Federation’s ninth consecutive year with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. The Federation also earned a 2023 Platinum Seal of Transparency on Candid (formerly Guidestar), the world’s largest source of nonprofit information.
