Ronald Jack Abernethy, 91, of Kill Devil Hills, died January 24, 2024 at home. Jack was born in Lincoln County on May 1, 1932. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Viewing will be held at Gallop Funeral Chapel in Nags Head on January 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside service with military honors will be held February 1 at the Town of Manteo Cemetery at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Colington Volunteer Fire Department or Outer Banks Presbyterian Church.
