The North Carolina Education Lottery has reported a big win by a Craven County woman.

Jessica Murphy, of New Bern, tried her luck on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $757,577 prize on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

She bought her lucky ticket from Piggly Wiggly on Tatum Drive in New Bern. It matched all five balls in the Cash 5 drawing for a $1.5 million jackpot. She split the prize with another jackpot-winning ticket from Apex. The odds of matching numbers on all five balls playing Cash 5 are 1 in 962,598.
