The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks is partnering with Shree Fulcher, owner and “creatress” of Ascension Studio, to provide a six-week meditation journey for anyone wishing to join. Drops-ins are welcome; however, it is highly recommended that individuals join each session as they will build on each other.

All practices will begin at 9:30 a.m. and take place at the UUCOB meetinghouse at 831 Herbert Perry Road (at the corner of Kitty Hawk and Herbert Perry Roads) in Kitty Hawk. Attendees should bring their own yoga mats, blankets and water bottles.

The schedule will be:

2/16 – Setting the Space/Intention

2/23 – Breathwork/Mudras/Mantras

3/1 – Moving Meditation/Gentle Yoga

3/8 – Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation

3/15 – Sound Meditation

3/22 – Grand Finale/combo

The final session will be an extended practice that pulls everything together and may take 90 minutes. There is no cost to attend, but a free-will offering basket will available for donations.

“Shree is on a mission to spread healing and wellness, a mission that stems from her personal struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. From a rocky bottom Shree climbed back up, first by leaping into a Yoga teacher training only months after becoming sober,” stated the UUCOB announcement.

Fulcher opened Ascension Studio, a yoga and reiki healing sanctuary, on the Outer Banks in 2019, and has since expanded to offer a full yoga/meditation schedule, trainings, workshops and reiki classes through the School of Ascension, where she teaches multiple healing modalities with a focus on energetic and emotional awareness/wellness.

“The UUCOB is extremely grateful to Shree for offering this wellness event to the entire Outer Banks community,” noted the announcement.
