The Hyde County Public School System has announced the departure of Angela Todd, who served as a member of the Board of Education for the school system since 2016 and led the board as chair for a number of years. “After an exemplary tenure, Ms. Todd stepped down from her position, effective January 17, 2024,” stated the HCS announcement.

“During her tenure, Ms. Todd demonstrated unwavering dedication and leadership, playing a pivotal role in advancing Hyde County Schools’ educational initiatives. Her visionary guidance and commitment to excellence have greatly contributed to the success and growth of the Board of Education,” the release continued.

“We are profoundly grateful for Ms. Todd’s outstanding service and invaluable contributions during her tenure as the Chair of the Board of Education for Hyde County Schools,” said Dr. Melanie R. Shaver, Superintendent of Schools. “Her passion, wisdom, and steadfast leadership have left an indelible mark on our educational community.”

Todd has been instrumental in driving positive change and fostering an environment conducive to academic achievement and growth, noted the announcement. “Her visionary approach and collaborative spirit have paved the way for numerous significant accomplishments within the educational landscape of Hyde County.”

Hyde County Schools extended appreciation to Todd for her dedication, leadership and commitment to educational excellence: “We wish her continued success and fulfillment in all her future endeavors.”

“Her tenure will continue to inspire and guide the ongoing efforts of our school system as we remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of educational excellence and student success,” stated the release.
