Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

Our family and friends know of our “open door policy.” Anyone is invited to our home. During holidays we always have a few extra seats at the table. We love to have people join us and we feel like God has given us our home so that we could offer hospitality. We may be asked to listen, wipe a tear, offer a meal or just be together to soften someone’s loneliness. I learned gifts of service from my mother, who also had an open door policy. We took people in, extended family lived with us, hosting church circle meetings, baby showers, people dropping in on Sunday after church. There was always something going on when I was young. I observed that everyone needed to be loved and our house provided warmth. I wanted to carry on the tradition. Many people have blessed us and we believe we have blessed those who entered our home.

That open door policy also applies to God. His arms and heart are always waiting for us to come close. “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely … – Revelation 22:17

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the door to the church, to salvation, to heaven and to eternal life, John 10:7-10. He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

Walk through that door if it has been a while and feel God’s loving embrace. Let His Word comfort and teach us in His ways, so that we know the doors to enter. God bless.
