Barbara Donatelli McPherson, 64, of Nags Head, NC left the burdens of mankind and earth behind and ascended into Heaven on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Barbara was born on June 20, 1959, in Providence, Rhode Island to Vincent and Marion Donatelli and was the youngest of the four children in the family. Barbara spent her entire childhood living on Cottage Ave in North Providence, RI and graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic School for girls in 1977. While attending Rhode Island junior college in 1979 she met her future husband on a blind date.

They were married on Dec. 10, 1981, in Charleston, SC and she embarked on an adventure that would include living all over the United States and overseas in Asia. In 2005 Barbara moved to the beach in Nags Head, NC and spent her time enjoying the ocean, her two children, five grandchildren, three German shepherds and her cat. Barbara touched many lives in her long journey through life. She was loved by many for her kind nature and willingness to help those in need. A renowned cook, she enlivened many occasions and holidays with her skills as a cook and baker.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and older brother, John. Those left to cherish Barbara’s many deeds and memories include her husband of 42 years and two months, Bob; son Jared McPherson, Jared’s wife April, and their children Colton and Ryan of Kill Devil Hills, NC; daughter Rachael Woodhams, Rachael’s husband Chris and their children Caitlin, Brenna, and Avery of Virginia Beach, VA.; Barbara’s sister Marilyn Donatelli of North Smithfield, RI; and her sister, Lee Sisak of Chepachet, RI, along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends who loved her and will miss her.
