Ripple Fiber, a fiber optic internet provider based in the southeast, is now live on the Outer Banks. As the first to receive fiber internet in the area, more than 4,500 residents in Kitty Hawk and Southern Shores are now able to utilize the innovative technology, with thousands more anticipated to have access by the end of 2024, reports Ripple Fiber.

“The Outer Banks is an area that we are proud to be a part of, as we understand the community’s need for enhanced connectivity,” says Greg Wilson, CEO of Ripple Fiber. “Being chosen to introduce this technology has been a great honor, so witnessing the months of hard work and collaboration with local leaders materialize is amazing.”

“Driving digital transformation across the world, fiber internet is a powerful solution that functions at the speed of light. It transmits data through light pulses and is less susceptible to outside interference, making the fiber optic connections uniquely durable and strong,” noted a Ripple Fiber news release. “With Ripple Fiber’s future-focused approach, residents of the Outer Banks now have access to an infrastructure that will power the area for decades to come. Whether subscribers are using their internet for remote work or video streaming, they can rely on this service for exceptional bandwidth and impressive upload and download speeds.”
