Elizabeth City men face weapons charges following Nags Head traffic stop

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported on the arrest of four Elizabeth City men following a traffic stop in Nags Head.

According to a DCSO news release, on April 9, 2024 at around 5:28 p.m., the Dare County Sheriff’s Office and Nags Head Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation near Sonic in Nags Head. During the traffic stop, three handguns and marijuana were recovered and seized, according to DCSO, which also stated that one of the handguns had been converted to fully automatic.

Jaques Lee Barcliff, 18, of Elizabeth City, was charged with felony possess weapon of mass destruction and received a $60,000 secured bond.

Mykele Lavon Roberts, 21, of Elizabeth City, was charged with felony possess weapon of mass destruction and received a $75,000 secured bond.

Sayqwan Kylik Jones, 22, of Elizabeth City, was charged with felony possess weapon of mass destruction, felony possession of firearm by felon and misdemeanor resist, delay and obstruct an officer and received a $152,000 secured bond.

Anthony Curtis Coley, 20, Elizabeth City, was charged with felony possess weapon of mass destruction, misdemeanor carry concealed weapon and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and received a $64,000 secured bond.
