Pavement repair at intersection of US 158 and NC 12 begins Wednesday

A contractor with the North Carolina Department of Transportation will begin work Wednesday, April 17, 2024 to mill and resurface areas of damaged pavement near the intersection of U.S. 158 and N.C. 12 in Southern Shores.

According to NCDOT, the work will begin in the left turn lanes from U.S. 158 South onto North Ocean Boulevard near the Aycock Brown Visitor Center. Once that work is complete, work will begin on the six-lane section of highway at the same intersection.

The work will continue through Friday, April 19 then resume on Monday, April 22 until the work is completed.

“Traffic delays are expected, so motorists should plan ahead and drive with extreme caution while in the area,” advises NCDOT.
