The Kill Devil Hills Fire Marshal is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.

“The Kill Devil Hill Fire Department would like to emphasize the importance of having properly working smoke alarms,” stated the release. “Working smoke alarms serve as a first line of defense against fires. They aid in the early detection of fires, which could potentially save lives by providing timely warnings to occupants to evacuate a building. Additionally, they can help minimize property damage.”
