Ramona Gwendolyn Creef, 94, of Wanchese, NC, passed away peacefully on Thurs., April 18, 2024 at her daughter’s home In Virginia Beach, VA. She was born to mother Irma Turner Lloyd and father Clarence Randolph Hayes.

Ramona grew up in Wanchese, N.C., where she met Wilton (H) Creef at the old Nags Head Casino. They celebrated 70 years of a loving marriage. They moved to Chesapeake Va., to raise their five children. Upon retirement they returned back to Wanchese where they enjoyed “God’s Country,” and hosted family, friends, and memorable times for many. Ramona was a member of the Nags Head Eagles Club where she and H enjoyed music, dancing, conventions, and the many friendships they made there thru the years. Ramona had a lifelong love of gardening, even at the age of 90. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers, birding and God’s gift of nature. Her greatest joy in life was that of being a supportive and devoted Mother and sharing in the lives of her family. Ramona’s sweet, god-loving spirit will continue in our lives and be passed down to generations. She touched many thru-out her life with her amazing gift of loving us all so well. She was the bright shining star of our family who will be forever missed.

Ramona is predeceased by husband, Wilton F. Creef Sr., son Wilton F. Creef Jr., son-in-law Paul Bernard Sr., brother C.T. Hayes, sister Jeannine Boatwright, and other family members.

Left to cherish her memory are: son Randolph Creef (Robin), daughters Lucinda  Woyer (Michael), Lorraine Harrell (Tom), and Tanya Raza (Mark), grandchildren: Monica Dipietro, Kelly Harrell, Shawn Woyer, Kenneth Woyer, Paul Bernard Jr., Christopher Bernard, Nathaniel Bernard,  Casey Raza-Spearman, and Mark Raza Jr., great grandchildren: Tayler and Baylee Woyer, Ethan and Gavin Farris,  Spencer DiPietro, Abigail Bernard,  and John Quidley,  brother Ted Hayes,  cousin Jim Baker, nieces, nephews,  and other family members and  friends.

A celebration of life for Ramona will be held Wednesday, May 29 at the Nags Head Eagles Club, 2706 S. Croatan Hwy. from 2-5 p.m.
