For we walk by faith, not by sight. – 2 Cor. 4:7 ESV

I am one of those people that has always had to enhance my vision by wearing eyeglasses. When I was crawling into walls as a baby, they realized glasses would help and they did. And they have all of my life. I don’t take good vision for granted. What is vision? The dictionary says it is, “the faculty or state of being able to see.” Well that is a simple explanation of a very complex thing … our eyes.

I am surprised sometimes of the vision and perception others have. We can be looking at the same thing but another person’s vision is different from mine. We see through our heart at times. Our life experiences shape how we interpret the things we see.

We trust our faith and wisdom to put us on a straight path. Much like a boat captain charts his course, he knows to veer too far to the left or right would put him in danger if he leaves the channel. It is the same for us. With the tools we are given to navigate life according to God’s Word, we know to take the narrow path. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:6 ESV

While we can’t see the physical face of God, we can see His Heart. But there are those that say He doesn’t exist because they have not seen Him with their own eyes. Jesus said in John 20:29, “Because you have seen me, you have believed, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
