Mark your calendars for a whole host of fun activities at Dowdy Park all summer long.

“We are excited for summer and all the friends and activities it brings,” said market coordinator Paige Griffin.

All events at Dowdy Park, located at 3005 S. Croatan Hwy. in Nags Head, are free and open to the public.

The popular Farmer’s Market resumes Thursday, June 13 and will be held weekly from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through August 15. About 65 vendors will set up under tents to showcase their handmade items, from fresh produce to artwork to baked goods. Some new vendors this year include The Taylor Garden, Coastal Pickling Co., Sprouts Granola, Manteo Made handcrafted woodwork, Made by Jink one-of-a-kind clothing, and Sand Bar Sweets specialty cookies and macarons.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. for the Summer Concert Series, featuring a different rockin’ band each week. The series runs from June 19 to August 21.

Active early birds can enjoy an hour of Yoga on the Lawn Tuesday mornings beginning June 4 at 7:30 a.m. and running through October, or Fitness Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. from June 21 to August 21.

Several Tuesdays throughout the summer are planned for “Storytellers Telling” nights (July 2 and August 6) from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Family Fun Nights (July 16 and August 20) from 4 to 7 p.m. Families can enjoy crafts, activities, lawn games, popcorn and a presentation.

Movies at the Park are coming back on Friday June 7 and Friday September 6 at 8 p.m. More information to come on the town’s Facebook page.
