Town of Nags Head sets Memorial Day ceremony

The Town of Nags Head has announced its annual Memorial Day ceremony, set to take place Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m.

“Held in front of the veterans memorial at Town Hall, this event serves as a tribute to the courageous men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to America,” stated the announcement from the Town of Nags Head.

“All members of the public are cordially invited and encouraged to attend, to stand together to pay homage to those who have bravely served our country,” the announcement continued. “The ceremony is an opportunity for individuals to remember and honor family members, friends, and fellow citizens who have selflessly given their lives in defense of our nation.”

Retired United States Navy Captain George Petro will be the keynote speaker for the ceremony, which will be held in front of the town’s municipal complex at 5401 S. Croatan Highway (mile post 14).
