COA summer camps announced

College of The Albemarle will again be holding summer camps for area youth this year. Registration is now open for a wide range of camps designed to inspire, educate and entertain students from second grade or age seven up to 12th grade. Camps are available at all four campuses: COA – Currituck, COA – Dare, COA – Edenton-Chowan and COA – Elizabeth City.
“At COA, we believe in making learning fun, and our summer camps are no exception,” noted a COA news release. “From aviation to cybersecurity, from art to technology, there’s something for every interest.”
- Aviation Camp: Soar into the world of aerodynamics and wind tunnels.
- Camp Scrubs – Health Sciences: Get hands-on experience in the medical field.
- Cyber Security for Kids: Learn to stay safe in a digital world.
- Everyday Heroes: Discover what it takes to be a hero in the community.
- Financial Smarts: Master the art of money management.
- Gardening with Herbs: Get hands dirty and learn to grow herbs.
- Grand Slam Singing Camp: Hit a high note with musical fun and baseball. Students in this camp will perform at community baseball games.
- HVAC is Cool: Chill out while learning the basics of AC systems.
- “I See, I Hear, I Feel” – Art and Ecology Camp: Connect with nature through art and sound.
- Keyboarding: Type your way to success!
- Kids Ceramic Camp: Shape your imagination with ceramics.
- Manufacturing Camp: From idea to reality, explore the world of manufacturing.
- Mixed Media Art Camp: Dive into a world of creativity with printmaking, collage and ceramics.
- Pirates Who Sing and Dance Theatre Camp: Set sail for adventure on the stage!
- Sparky Welds Again: Experience the sparks of virtual welding.
- STEM: Dive into the exciting world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
- Technology is for Everyone: Build your IT skills from the ground up.
