Charles P. Swoope

Virginia Beach – Charles P. Swoope Jr. (Charlie), 55, passed away Oct 31, 2018 in Kill Devil Hills, NC. He was born in Norfolk, Va.

Proceed in death are his father Charles Swoope Sr. and his sister Cheri Swoope Taylor.

Charlie is survived by his mother Mary Frances Swoope, his sister Cindy Swoope and partner Lara Scott, his daughter Hannah Richardson (Brandon), two grandsons Vance and Jace, and numerous relatives.

He was in the class of 1981 at Kempsville High in Virginia Beach, where he then became a journeyman electrician for his entire life. He loved all football (especially his Redskins) and Nascar and all his friends, family and fun, that came along with these sports. The last eight years of his life were on the OBX of NC, where he gained many friends and great memories.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, at 1 p.m., Friday Nov 16.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach.

Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
