Matthew Norfleet Knight

Matthew Norfleet Knight, 95, of Sunbury died Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his residence in Sunbury.

Born August 26, 1923 in Beaufort County he was the son of the late Daniel Watson Knight and Lena Harris Knight and was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Gray Stotesberry Knight; brother, William Knight and son-in-law, Shirley Zane Clifton. Mr. Knight was a retired Church of Christ Minister serving for forty-five years and was a member of Wenona Church of Christ.

His family includes his daughters, Charlotte Knight Clifton of Sunbury, N.C. and Nancy Knight Gaddy and husband Hugh of Elizabeth City, N.C.; sisters, Margaret K. Harris of Pinetown, N.C. and Eileen Massie of Virginia Beach, VA.; brothers, Dan Knight of Lugoff, S.C. and Lindsay Knight of Newport, N.C.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Wenona Church of Christ with Phillip Alligood officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday 29, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wenona Church of Christ.
