PLYMOUTH, NC – Hope Jones Stanton died on March 15. She was born on June 15, 1932, in Popular Branch, Currituck County.

Mrs. Stanton was preceded in death by her first husband, Doward Nixon Jones ; by her second husband, Dr. Allie M. Stanton; by her daughter, Lynn Jones Ennis; and by her son-in-law, Larry W. Ennis.

Surviving are sons, Doward, Jr. and wife Arden of Roper, Allen and wife Georgina of Raleigh, and step-son, Dr. Edward Stanton and wife Linda of Sanford, NC.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Emily Alexander and husband Chris of Raleigh, Phillip Jones of Winterville, NC, Allison Jones of San Francisco, Ca., Hannah Rains and husband Heath Grant of Raleigh, Erika DeBlasi and husband Ernie of Boynton Beach, FL.; as well as Craig Stanton, Jeff Stanton and Scott Stanton.  Mrs. Stanton is also survived by great-grandchildren, Tess Alexander, Ellis Grant, Greta Grant, Beni DeBlasi and Sophie DeBlasi.

A memorial service was to be held Saturday, March 24, at First Baptist Church, Plymouth with Jimmy Hag-wood officiating. Family were to receive friends at the church. Interment was planned to  follow at Cedar-wood Cemetery, Hertford.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Plymouth.
