Edward “Cruiser” Midgett

Eddie “Cruiser” Midgett, 70, of Nags Head, died Sunday, May 13, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Etta Baum Midgett and Luey Alton Midgett.

A graduate of Manteo High School, Cruiser served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard. The majority of his career was at Wanchese Fish Company.

Cruiser is survived by his wife, Becky Sovia; a son, Dustin Lawrence Midgett (Jill) of Manteo; one granddaughter, Lexi Cruz Midgett; and his sister, Alta Whitehurst of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Carr.

A farewell party for Cruiser will be held at Mulligan’s Restaurant in Nags Head on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 7 p.m. and all are welcome.

Appreciation to Bernice of Dare Hospice for her exceptional care during his last days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dare Hospice, PO Box 669, Manteo, 27954.
