Meeting at First Flight High School, Feb. 12, Dare’s board of education approved school calendars for the 2019 to 2020 school term and the 2020 to 2021 school term.

For next year, the first day of school in Dare County is August 26.

Three school days and a weekend make up Thanksgiving.

The winter or Christmas break is two weeks, starting Dec. 20 with early dismissal.

A week-long Spring break comes after Easter, April 12. This coincides with the COA schedule.

The calendar features two no school days set aside for parent conferences. One is set for Nov. 1 and the second one for Feb. 14.
