Retired teachers and school staff: come one, come all! The Dare County Unit of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel (NCRSP), is beginning to plan for their group’s 2019-20 school year services. This organization takes the reigns from the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE), who is associated with presently working teachers.
The NCRSP is dedicated solely to serving all retired education personnel in the state. Juli Perkins, president; Connie Outten, secretary; Carol Sparks, vice president; Lynn Blackburn, treasurer/membership/memorials and (not pictured) Sue Ward, communications were present at Trio Restaurant and Market on August 20, 2019.
The group determined that all retired educators – from any state – are invited to join in the mission to strengthen the education retiree voice in Dare County by coming out to any of the monthly meetings. These occur at noon on the fourth Wednesday of each month during the school year, at a specified restaurant in the community. The first meeting is at Rooster’s Southern Kitchen in Kill Devil Hills, at noon on September 25.
