Tideland Conference middle school tournament starts this week

In the Tideland Conference Middle School tournament, both Ocracoke boys and girls teams are the tournament’s No. 1 seeds.

Both Ocracoke semi-final games will be played Jan. 29 at Cape Hatteras Secondary’s gymnasium in Buxton. The girls game starts at 4 p.m. with the boys game following. The ticket price for both games is $5.

Meanwhile in Columbia, Cape Hatteras Middle School girls team plays its semi-final tournament game with the game starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29. On Thursday, the Cape Hatteras Middle School boys team plays a semi-final game in Mattamuskeet at 4 p.m.

Cape Hatteras varsity teams will play two home games this upcoming week.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Mattamuskeet Lakers come to Buxton. The boys junior varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m., with the girls and boys varsity games following.

On Friday, Jan. 31, the varsity teams from Ocracoke and Cape Hatteras play in Buxton. The girls game starts at 6 p.m. with the boys following around 7:30 p.m.
