Gaskins recognized by DAR for community service

Virginia Dare Chapter, NSDAR, presented a Community Service Award to Denise Gaskins of Avon in recognition of her outstanding volunteer efforts in her church and community.
Gaskins donates her artwork for church raffles and organizes the St. John United Methodist Church Community Dinners program. She also assists the youth of the church community with her artistic skills.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a volunteer women’s service organization. Membership is open to any woman 18 years and older who can prove lineal bloodline decent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
