Thomas Edward Allen, 60, of Plymouth, died August 30, 2020 after a lengthy illness. He was an avid fisherman and could be seen casting a line on the Roanoke River at any given time.

Thomas was born September 5, 1959 in Plymouth to Warren Washington Allen and Mary Jane Wheeler Allen. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Elizabeth “Lizzy” Allen and Lorrie Brown.

Thomas is survived by wife Gwen, son Kenneth, of the home; brother William Allen of Plymouth; sister Wendy Bright, of Greenville; as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Thomas worked for the NC Department of Transportation performing bridge maintenance. He was also a volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels, delivering lunches to the elderly several times a week.
