David E Mooring, 71, of Elizabeth City, died January 8, 2021 at home after a brief bout with cancer. David was born December 5, 1949 near Fremont to Luther and Alean Minshew Mooring.

Survivors include wife Christine Payne Mooring, daughters Michele Mooring Cabell and Karen Mooring Reeder (Travis Markham, fiancé), grandchildren Sydney and Kenan Reeder; father-in-law Robert “Bob” Payne (Rosa “Stevie” Northwood); son-in-law, Lacy Reeder; sister Judy Craddock and her sons; sister Helen Newcomb and her daughter and son; sister-in-law Joyce Mooring Stott and two daughters. He was preceded in death by brother Joe Mooring.

Out of concern for everyone’s safety at this time, a memorial service will be planned for a later date at Berea Baptist Church. Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is assisting the family. www.TwifordFH.com.
