Ed Vohs, 96, of Jacksonville, Ore., died January 18, 2021. Ed was born September 8, 1924 in Grandview, Mo. to the late Henry and Dona Vohs. He was preceded in death by son Richard Vohs; brother Chester Vohs; sister Barbara Gilbert; and wife Eileen.

At 17, Ed joined the US Navy on September 13, 1941. He was assigned to Aviation Machinist Mate school and later changed to Parachute Rigger.

Ed enlisted in the US Air Force in May 1948 and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant-First Sergeant serving a total of 25 combined years of service on April 30, 1967.

He is survived by sister Catherine Cooper; cousin Jeannie Vohs and son Steven Vohs and wife Lanie of Manteo.
