Both the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots continue to grow, offering North Carolinians their chance at life-changing prizes, stated a press release from the North Carolina Education Lottery.

With nine ways to win in each game, North Carolinians are bringing in some big prizes. Most recently, Naren Som of Fayetteville tried her luck on a Powerball ticket and took home a $100,000 prize.

Her $3 Power Play ticket matched numbers on four of the white balls and the Powerball in last Wednesday’s drawing. Som’s prize doubled to $100,000 when the 2X multiplier was drawn.

The Powerball jackpot stands at $201 million as an annuity or $137.4 million cash for Wednesday’s drawing. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
