Charlotte Ross, age 68, of Nags Head, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24, 2021 surrounded by her family. Charlotte lost a long and courageous battle with cancer, which she faced with determination, dignity and strength every day.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Rob Ross, of Nags Head, NC, and her daughter, Lauren Peeples, who resides in Upper Arlington, OH with her husband, Andrew Peeples and two beloved grandchildren, Henry (4) and Emily (2). Charlotte is also survived by her sister, Linda Stradtman of Avondale, PA, her brother, Chuck Pelic of Cedar Rapids, IA and her father, Charles Pelic of Kill Devil Hills, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Pelic.

Charlotte was born in Ambridge, PA and grew up in the Pittsburgh area. She and her husband, Rob, were married for 47 years, and after many moves around the country, retired permanently in Nags Head in 2013. The beach was her happy place, and her two grandchildren, Henry and Emily, were the center of her world. She shared her magic with them every day, whether near or far, and they absolutely adored her.

For the past several years, Charlotte was also very involved in the Outer Banks community, serving as the Secretary of the Dare County Republicans and former President of the Nags Head Links Ladies, a social and philanthropic group dedicated to helping the community through fundraising and volunteerism. A natural leader, Charlotte was always the first to give her time, talent and creativity to bring people together, whether through a formal organization or social group of friends.

A wife, a mother, a grandmother (Yaya) and a great friend, Charlotte made a difference in so many lives. She was strong, compassionate, fun and most of all, generous, always willing to go above and beyond for anyone in her life. The life of every party, Charlotte had a beautiful singing voice, a warm heart and a giving spirit that she shared with friends and family every day. She had an irresistible positive energy and welcomed everyone into her light.

A celebration of Charlotte’s vibrant life will be held in Nags Head in late July. In lieu of flowers, please honor Charlotte’s legacy by donating in her memory to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation.
