Campus police said Wilkins was a guest of a college retiree’s family at the time.

Davidson College Police Chief Julian Coaxum reminded people visiting the Lake Campus not to swim alone and to stay in a depth of water where they can stand up. Coaxum also said any small children using the lake should be supervised and have safety flotation devices.
