Joseph L.S. Terrell, 92, of Point Harbor, died peacefully on October 18, 2021.
He was born in Burlington on October 13, 1929 to Marvin Clayton Terrell and Imogen McCullers Scott. Joe was predeceased by siblings Jane, Gretchen (“Peggy”), Marvin (“Laddie”) and Frederick William (“Billy”), first wife Frances Fuquay Terrell and second wife Faye Trolson Terrell.
Survivors include children Michael Terrell (Jenny); Emily Terrell; Jennifer Terrell Faircloth; Christopher Terrell (Laura); 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Joe’s life is being planned by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made directly to the North Carolina Writers’ Network.
