Joey Russell Austin, 65, of Elizabeth City, died April 3, 2022 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in Elizabeth City on April 20, 1956 to the late Wilbur Russell Austin and Bertha Elizabeth Evans Hollomon.

Survivors include children Janelle E. Austin, Joshua R. Austin and Jordan S. Austin (Jewel), siblings Bonnie Brothers (Leon), Randy Austin (Lynne), three grandchildren and other family.
