Thomas Cooper McKimmey III, of Manteo, died May 29, 2022 at home. Son of the late Thomas Cooper McKimmey II and Katherine Walker McKimmey, he was born in Elizabeth City on November 26, 1937. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother Wilse Walker McKimmey. Survivors include sons Shawn McKimmey and Michael Eric McKimmey.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on June 3 at Faith Baptist Church, Manteo. A luncheon will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Graveside committal with military honors will begin at 4 p.m. at the McKimmey Cemetery, Camden. Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo.
