Scott Lee Forbes, 71, of Powells Point, died June 24, 2022 after a 10 year battle with cancer. He was born on November 28, 1950 to the late Julian Lathan Forbes and Margaret Evans Forbes in Jarvisburg.

Survivors include wife Sharon Beasley Forbes, child Scott “Scotty” Lee Forbes Jr., siblings JoAnn Parker Gallop and Tommy (Maria) Forbes, brother-in-law John Douglass and other family. He was predeceased by siblings Ralph Forbes and Julie Douglass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Powells Point Christian Church (197 Church Road, Harbinger, NC  27941). Funds will be split between the church building fund and the local animal shelter.

Memorial service will be held at Powells Point Christian Church in Harbinger on June 30 at 11 a.m. Gallop Funeral Services is assisting the family. www.gallopfuneralservices.com
