Alfreda Buckner Stanley, 74, of Kill Devil Hills, died August 30, 2022 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Craven County on May 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth Mercer Buckner and Luther Allen Buckner.

Survivors include daughters Lisa Latham (Logan Pugh) and Melissa Garza (Ray Garza); seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and siblings Mattie Jones and Johnny Buckner.

In addition to her parents, Alfreda was preceded in death by husband John Victor Stanley Jr. and five siblings.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on September 10, 2022 at New Bern Memorial Cemetery. A viewing and visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo.
