We regret to inform to that due to Covid concerns, we have decided to postpone the black history program “Checkerboard Crews and Colored News.” The event, which was scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 3 p.m. at the College of The Albemarle – Dare, will be rescheduled for another time as soon as arrangements can be made.

We apologize for any inconvenience this matter has caused. However, we think it best to postpone at this time, especially since a large crowd was expected, and because Covid and the cold/flu season is with us.

Hopefully, however, this delay will not deter your enthusiasm and interest in coming to our program when it is rescheduled.  As soon as a new date is selected, we will let you know.

Please also note, given that our February 18 program is being postponed, we will not open the Pea Island Cookhouse Museum on February 19 from 2-4 p.m. as originally planned.
