The North Carolina Education Lottery has reported on a big win by a Pasquotank County man in a recent Powerball drawing.

Claude Banks III, of Elizabeth City, took a chance on a $2 Powerball ticket and won a $1 million prize on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Banks bought his lucky Quick Pick ticket from Zoom In on South Hughes Boulevard in Elizabeth City. His ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls to win the prize. The odds of that win are 1 in 11.6 million.
