Dare commissioners have two meetings Monday

On Monday, May 3, Dare County Board of Commissioners will hold a regular monthly meeting starting at 9 a.m. and a budget workshop starting at 11 a.m.

The monthly meeting will be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room and the budget workshop in Room 168 in the Administration Building, 954 Marshall C. Collins Dr. in Manteo.

Both meetings are open to the public.

Public comments can be made at the Commissioners Meeting Room in Manteo or through an interactive video link at the Fessenden Center Annex, 47017 Buxton Back Road in Buxton.

On the meeting agenda is an update about the Medicaid transformation going on now.

The summary page for Item 8 states “the Board of Commissioners will discuss paying a retention bonus to Dare County Home Health and Dare Hospice employees to maintain current staffing levels should Dare Home Health and Hospice be sold to BrightSpring Health Services.” No additional details are provided in the agenda book.

At the budget workshop, the commissioners will consider the upcoming fiscal year budget and “take such action that may come before the Board of Commissioners.”
