Michael Steven Watson, 71, of Southern Shores, died February 27, 2022 at home. He was born in Knox County, Tenn. on May 24, 1950.

Having served his country honorably during the Vietnam era, Steve was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include wife Laura Melissa Walker, sister Connie Sue Watson and brother Jeffrey Watson.

He was predeceased by parents Bernice Louise Patterson and John H. Watson and sister Judy Gail Gilbert.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org/).
