“It’s almost time for some of that good ole TVFD Firehouse Barbecue!” Joie Spencer, Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department spokesman, has announced.

Plates and five-pound buckets of pork barbecue will be available beginning at 11 a.m. on May 5 in the Columbia Fire Station at 618 North Road Street.

Preorders for the buckets are being taken now. “Contact any TVFD member or send us a message on Facebook to place your order,” he said.

Plates will contain two sides and bread; desserts prepared by the TVFD Women Auxiliary will be available too.

The fire station’s large dining room will be open for those who choose to eat in and take-out orders will be filled in the convenient indoor drive through area.

Plates are $8 each and the five-pound buckets are $40, preorder only.

The meals will be cooked and prepared by the members of Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department.

“Place your bulk order now and mark your calendar for May 5 to enjoy some more of that TVFD barbecue that has gained such a high reputation,” Spencer invited. “Thanks for your support of the Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department!”

Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department is a private, nonprofit organization that maintains and operates six stations under contracts with the Town of Columbia and Tyrrell County.
